PhD thesis and post-doctorate research focused on development of indices that reflect aspects of fish welfare and exploring interactions
between these welfare indices and husbandry factors e.g. water quality, stocking density. Subsequent work in industry has focused on the
development best practice guidelines and provision of technical support for preventative (e.g. vaccines) and therapeutic (e.g. anaesthetics,
antibiotics and sea lice treatments) medicines for farmed and ornamental fish.
